The Silverwood Elementary PTA is excited to host a Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) altar in the school library, and we’d love for you to be a part of it! Bring in a framed or unframed photo (use plastic or paper materials) of a loved one you’d like to honor, and let’s celebrate their memory together. This special tradition, as seen in the movie Coco, is all about keeping the spirit of those we love alive by sharing their stories and memories. 

Just a couple of things: make sure the photo is a copy (we can’t guarantee it’ll make it back home) and write your student’s name and teacher on the back of the frame. Drop off your pics at the school office starting Monday, October 28th. The altar will be up until Friday, November 8th.

El PTA de Silverwood Elementary se complace en organizar un altar del Día de los Muertos en la biblioteca de la escuela, ¡y nos encantaría que usted sea parte de él! Traiga una foto enmarcada o sin enmarcar (use materiales de plástico o papel) de un ser querido que le gustaría honrar, y celebremos juntos su memoria. Esta tradición especial, como se ve en la película Coco, se trata de mantener vivo el espíritu de aquellos que amamos compartiendo sus historias y recuerdos.

Solo un par de cosas: asegurense de que la foto sea una copia (no podemos garantizar que llegue a casa) y escribe el nombre de tu estudiante y el profesor en la parte posterior del marco. Deje sus fotos en la oficina de la escuela a partir del lunes 28 de octubre. El altar estará hasta el viernes 8 de noviembre.
