Walk ‘n Roll Kicks Off December 11th!

It’s official! With the support from Mr. Burns, the PTA, and parent coordinator, Shawn Singer Hall, SWE is kicking off Walk ‘n Roll at Silverwood on December 11th!

On Walk ‘n Roll Wednesdays, students arriving at school on foot, by bike, or in a carpool will have their scan tag scanned by volunteers. The Active4.me app will record trips, miles and CO2 saved, earning students charms for their scan tag and bragging rights!

For all this to come together every Walk ‘n Roll Wednesday, we need your help (for a quick 30 minutes) checking students in as they make their way through our walking and rolling stations!

Please use the SignUpGenius link to sign up as a Wednesday Checker. Be aware that Wednesday Checkers need to be a MDUSD approved volunteer AND own an Apple iPhone or iPad, on which you will download the Active4.me app and use to check in students.

We are working to acquire a few donated devices so if you are not an Apple user and you want to volunteer, please reach out to Shawn directly at silverwoodwalknroll@gmail.com.

We will also be hosting a volunteer training Thursday, Dec 5th at 7:30 am in front of the Silverwood office. Cara De Jong, our partner at StreetSmarts, will be there to help move us forward!
