Friday, November 14 | Meet at 7:45 AM at Berrywood Court & Olive Drive

Join us as we come together to honor Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day — a meaningful event celebrating courage, equality, and the power of one brave child to change the course of history.
Families are invited to meet at the corner of Berrywood Court and Olive Drive at 7:45 AM and walk to school together in recognition of Ruby Bridges’ historic first steps toward school integration.
In 1960, six-year-old Ruby Bridges became the first Black student to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South. Her simple act of walking to school—escorted by federal marshals—became a powerful symbol of strength, resilience, and hope during the Civil Rights Movement.
By participating in this walk, our school community continues Ruby’s legacy of bravery, inclusion, and respect for all. It’s a wonderful opportunity to teach our students that even the smallest steps can lead to monumental change.
👟 Bring your family, your walking shoes, and your homemade signs!
Let’s walk together in unity and celebration of Ruby’s incredible courage and the progress her actions inspired.
