We have so many fun and wonderful PTA events coming up (Readathon, Art and Pie Night, Skyhawk Carnival, Bingo Night and more!), and we’re incredibly excited about what’s ahead for our school community! These events are what help make our school such a special place for students and families.

But here’s where we need you. 💙

Over the next two years or less, many of our current PTA members and long-time volunteers will be aging out of Silverwood as their kids move on to middle school. While we’re thrilled for their next chapters, it also means we need new families and volunteers to step in so the PTA — and these events — can continue.

What does helping look like?

It can be as simple or as involved as you’d like:

• Joining an event committee
• Helping plan or organize behind the scenes
• Assisting with setup, donations, or coordination
• Learning how events are run so you can help lead one day

No experience is needed, and you won’t be thrown into anything alone. Our current volunteers are more than happy to share what they know, answer questions, and mentor new helpers.

Why it matters

PTA events don’t happen automatically — they happen because families step up. Having committee members now ensures:

• Our events can continue year after year
• Knowledge is passed along (so nothing gets lost!)
• No one person has to do everything

Even a small amount of help makes a big difference, and getting involved is a great way to meet other families and feel more connected to the school.
